Indigenous Support Services
Malu Care is an Indigenous-owned, community-controlled organisation founded by Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal community members, dedicated to supporting our pamleh (family) our way. Operating under the leadership of Northern Cape Island Enterprises (NCIE), Malu Care, alongside our brother company Koori Care, is united in our commitment to cultural strength, respect, and community empowerment.
Our services encompass culturally safe, community-driven care for children and youth, including 24/7 emergency accommodation, kinship support, and community-based programs, as well as personalised NDIS support focusing on personal care, skill-building, and community access. We also provide aged care services that honour our Elders, ensuring they receive dignified, culturally appropriate support to remain connected to their communities and heritage.
At Malu Care, we walk alongside our community members, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and empowered to take charge of their futures with confidence and pride.
At Malu Care, we provide culturally safe, community-driven support for children, young people, families, and Elders. Our services include emergency accommodation, NDIS support, family programs, and aged care services that uphold identity, resilience, and community connection.
We deliver Indigenous led, culturally grounded care that safeguards the safety, stability and wellbeing of children, young people, Elders and families, while honouring their identity, resilience and community ties.
In Kala Lagaw Ya (Western Torres Strait Language), malu means “deep water.” It represents a sacred, deep connection to family, kinship, islands and culture. The blue shades in our branding honour the waters of the Torres Strait, a source of life, connection and identity for our people.
Across Pacific cultures, malu also evokes “shelter,” “peace” and “protection,” reflecting our promise to create a safe and nurturing space for our pamleh to grow strong. Our logo is more than a design. It is a symbol of our cultural roots and the care we carry, grounded in tradition and guided by community.
